Monsters Mash

There have been a few updates to the Pen and Paper section of my portfolio the past few days. I have fully updated and completed a player race and two new monsters for use with the Pathfinder game system.

The player race is known as the Arashi. An exotic sea faring race descended from humans and elementals from the planes of air and water. Their capitol is the moving island Stormraft and they have strong ties to some dragons. There base stats and information is provided, and in the future I may expand it and give more insight into their culture and ways of life.

The first monster I created is known as the Crossroads Devil. In many legends people have been able to meet the a devil at a crossroads and gain great boon in exchange for their soul.

I took inspiration from those legends, especially that of Robert Johnson and from the CW show Supernatural and from there i crafted a fiendish foil that would work well as a villain in many a campaign.

The second monster is the Blood Shadow. A new type of undead available to be created using the animate dead spell, a blood shadow is a creature's blood given shape through unlife and the ability to increase its size and power by absorbing other creatures blood.

I came up with the idea for the blood shadow while playing a cleric necromancer in a D&D 3.5 game. After creating numerous skeletal minions, i thought on all the wasted building materials provided by corpses. Why discard the skin, blood, and muscles? This got me thinking about undead in general, and as you may have guessed, there are more to come.
